Jordan Love’s game-sealing interception prevented a late comeback by the Green Bay Packers, as the team lost to the San Francisco 49ers by the final score of 24-21.
The Packers are now eliminated from the playoffs. They delivered a valiant effort against the NFC’s No. 1 seed, holding onto a 21-14 lead entering the fourth quarter. However, a missed field goal by rookie kicker Anders Carlson combined with 10 unanswered points by the 49ers gave San Francisco a late advantage.
With a chance to potentially tie the game or take the lead on the team’s final drive, Love fired a deep pass across his body that was picked off by linebacker Dre Greenlaw to end the Packers’ hopes of a comeback.
The 25-year-old signal caller completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 194 yards to go along with two touchdowns, although he threw two interceptions as well. NFL fans were confused by his decision-making on Green Bay’s last possession of the game.

And Love’s final throw of his breakout season is a rookie-type mistake. Go figure.

Jordan Love REALLY looked like Brett Favre on that scrambling across the body throw for an interception to end your season.

Astoundingly poor decision by Jordan Love, who was so impressive in his first season as Packers starter. https://t.co/qy5ZY73Buu

Do not think the right team won tonight. But it doesn’t matter.
Game ends the way the Raiders, Steelers and Broncos games ended: Jordan Love with a chance to win it and an interception.

Jordan Love is great and will be a Pro Bowler for a long time. But that was a terrible interception.

That was one of the worst interceptions I’ve ever seen. Mind boggling bad.
Late, across his body over the middle into traffic. Just putrid. #NFLPlayoffs

jordan love is gonna be a great QB for the next decade but all things considered that might be the worst throw ive ever seen
Despite the brutal ending, Green Bay’s 2023 season was an unequivocal success. The Packers made the playoffs in Love’s first year as a full-time starter, knocking off the No. 2 seed Dallas Cowboys in the wild card round.
Although the final result is bittersweet, the future is bright in Green Bay.
