The NBA Finals MVP odds market is on the move again.
After the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets split the first two games of the NBA Finals, odds for the coveted award moved significantly. But then Denver went down to Miami and got Game 3 on the Heat’s home court, once again turning the tide on the gambling front.
With the Nuggets up 2-1, this matchup is already proving to be a thrilling series. Will the race for Most Valuable Player of the Finals be just as competitive?
Not if Denver’s Nikola Jokić has anything to do with it.
Let’s look at the odds.
The Joker opened as a huge favorite to win the award, and understandably so, as he has led his team through a dominant playoff run, including a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers. He remained the favorite even after the Nuggets dropped Game 2 at home, but his odds lengthened. But in Game 3, Jokić & Co. bounced back spectacularly, defeating the Heat 109-94, once again shifting the odds in a big way.
In that game, Nikola finished with an impressive triple-double, with 32 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists. While these stats might just sound like another day in the office for Jokić, he actually made history as the first player in NBA Finals history to have at least 30 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists in a single game.
After this incredible performance, Jokić now sits as a huge favorite to win MVP, with his odds moving all the way to -1250 after game 3.
Here’s a look at the top of the MVP odds board as the series stays in Miami for Game 4 (odds from FOX Bet).

Nuggets or Heat: Who wins Game 4 of NBA Finals?
Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat are 3.5-point home underdogs to Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets tonight in Game 4 at Miami.
Jimmy Butler is currently second on the odds board to win Finals MVP, which also makes sense, as he has been Miami’s MVP during the team’s run through the East. Jimmy Buckets finished Game 3 with 28 points, two rebounds and four assists.
After Miami’s Game 2 win, Bam Adebayo moved up the MVP odds board. His odds of winning the award have shifted significantly since the start of the series. Bam went from +6000 before Game 1 to +3000 before Game 2. The 6-foot-9 center’s odds got as short as +650, but after Miami’s Game 3 loss at home, Adebayo’s MVP odds now sit at +1400.
On the flip side, Jamal Murray’s odds have taken a tumble. Before Game 1, he was the third favorite at +2200. After Denver’s Game 2 loss, Murray lengthened all the way out to +4000. Now, ahead of Game 4, Jamal’s odds to be named Finals MVP sit at a long +5000.
Bettors love a long shot, so if you’re looking for one to throw some money on the MVP market, Murray might be where you want to place your wager. If he can catch fire from deep and lead the team to a big win in Game 4, his number will certainly shorten.
